Credit Bureaus
TransUnion Credit Bureau
Trans Union was founded in 1968 by the Union Tank Car Company. In 1969, they purchased the Credit Bureau of Cook County and then launched their own credit bureau for commercial purposes. Trans Union currently has 250 offices throughout the world and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Trans Union was formerly affiliated with local city credit bureaus as well as a company called the Marmon Group. However, in 2008 it operates as its own commercial entity.
A Trans Union report consists of data provided by individual creditors relating to an individual consumer (typically grouped by name and social security number). It includes all history with previous creditors, from commercial credit card companies to banks and even utility companies.
Trans Union is still one of the big three bureaus in the United States, along with Experian and Equifax. TransUnion, like the other large credit bureaus, is regulated as a credit reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

“My credit had always been good, so I was surprised when my refi was recently refused because of a low credit score. It appeared to me that someone else's credit rating was corrupting mine. I asked Credit Xperts [one of CreditScoreAide's trusted partners] to help, and in no time they had the imposter removed from my records and my refi was approved with the most favorable rates available. Credit Xperts really came through for me. ”Read More
