The Credit Crunch (and Why Good Credit Matters More Than Ever!)
The article in Forbes (you can read the whole thing here) is a great discussion of the credit problems Americans are facing. Everyone knows about the mortgage bubble. But what about the “standard of living” bubble? Forbes argues that our reliance on credit, and the drying up of inexpensive credit, is going to cause our standard of living take a big hit.
Here’s the gist of it: it’s getting harder and harder to access cheap credit.
But what’s the one big thing that you can do to get access to cheaper credit? You got it—improve your credit score. If you have a poor or even a good credit score now, you move into a whole new range of credit pricing if you bump your score up by 50, 75, or 100 points.
Don’t sit back passively and wait for the credit crunch to hit you and ruin your standard of living. Take action and improve your credit score. It’s something you have control over!
